v0.6.0-beta46
beta45 made the calendar feature possible. This one makes it pleasant.
A reminder that waits for you
The offer is now a small floating panel rather than a notification. It appears a quarter of an hour before your meeting, stays on screen until you answer it, and sits above a full-screen call instead of behind one.
It will not take focus. It does not pull you out of what you are doing — including the call it is asking about, which is the single most irritating thing about the reminders you already have.
Snooze
Fifteen minutes before a meeting, the honest answer is usually “not yet”. Until now that only came in two flavours: record it, or lose the offer entirely. Now you can put it off until the meeting starts, or by a few minutes.
A snooze survives quitting the app, and is never quietly turned into a dismissal — it cannot outlast the point where recording would still be useful.
One less permission to go wrong
Notifications needed your permission, and a permission is a second thing that can be silently missing — which is precisely how this feature spent five releases doing nothing at all. A window cannot be refused. There is nothing left to grant.
How much warning you want
In Settings › Calendar: 2, 5, 15 or 30 minutes. There is also a Show me one button that puts a real reminder on screen immediately, so you never have to wait for a meeting to find out whether it works.
On iPhone and iPad
The offer stays a notification there, and stays two minutes ahead. A banner is transient and cannot be snoozed, so sending it a quarter of an hour early would just mean it is gone by the time the meeting starts.
