v0.6.0-beta34
Two things beta33 said it did, and didn’t.
The violet is readable in dark mode
Last release’s notes said Minutiva “lifts its violet on dark backgrounds where that violet alone goes muddy.” The lifted shade existed in the palette. A comment next to it said what it was for. Nothing ever selected it.
So on a dark background, small violet text — “Analyzing speakers…”, tag labels, the pin marker — was rendering at a contrast ratio of 2.96:1, where the accessibility standard asks for 4.5:1. It was legible if you were looking for it and tiring if you weren’t. It now resolves to the lifted shade automatically, measuring 5.64:1.
If you use Minutiva in dark mode, this is the release where that stops being a squint.
The accent colour applies
Minutiva’s violet was set as the app’s accent colour in beta33, but macOS never read it: an accent colour asset does nothing unless the build also names it, and that one line was missing. Selected rows, switches and focus rings were still system blue. They’re violet now.
Where these came from
An accessibility pass on Minutiva Go, which shares its colour palette with this app through the same code. The contrast problem turned out to be shared too — so fixing it there fixed it here.
