A speed fix. On a long meeting, the list of voices could take fifteen seconds to appear, scrolling through a voice’s clips stuttered, and closing the window left it thinking. All three are gone.
What was happening
Asking for a single line of the transcript quietly re-read the entire transcript from disk. That is harmless once — and everything that lists a voice’s clips asks hundreds of times. Deciding which voices were too quiet to show, alone, re-read a long meeting’s transcript about eighteen hundred times.
The transcript is now read once and kept. On the longest meeting we have, the same work went from 12.8 seconds to under a millisecond.
Nothing else changed
Everything from beta30 — re-checking voices against the ones you’ve named, marking clips where two people talk at once, searching by who was in the meeting — is unchanged. This build only makes it usable on long recordings.
