v0.6.0-beta25
Two things that make the app harder to break, after a week that proved it could be.
People keeps up with a big library
Everything Minutiva knows about a voice — the fingerprints it collects each time it hears someone — was stored in the same file as their name. So correcting a name meant rewriting all of it: on a library with thousands of samples, about a second of work to change a word, every time.
Names, notes and meeting lists now live apart from the voice data. Renaming, merging and forgetting are immediate, and stay that way as your library grows. Nothing to migrate — it happens the first time this build opens.
A broken build can no longer take the app down with it
Last week’s crash had a sharp edge: the app closed during startup, before the part that checks for updates ever ran, so it couldn’t fetch its own fix. Reinstalling by hand was the only way out.
Minutiva now checks what it is permitted to do before reaching for iCloud, instead of assuming. If a build ever ships unable to reach it again, sharing switches itself off and Settings explains why — while recording, transcription, summaries and your library carry on as normal. None of those need iCloud, and none of them should ever have gone down with it.
We tested this the honest way: we rebuilt the app with the same fault as last week’s bad builds and launched it. It opens.
