v0.6.0-beta19
Two Macs, one library of notes. Right-click any meeting and send it to your other Mac. That’s the whole feature.
The problem it replaces
You record on one machine and need the notes on the other. Until now that meant exporting the markdown, pushing it through WhatsApp or AirDrop, finding it on the far side, and opening it. Four steps and a detour through a chat app to move a file to yourself.
Now it’s: right-click → Send to My Other Mac. The meeting shows up over there with its transcript, summary and speakers, and a small cloud icon on the row so you can see at a glance what’s been shared and what arrived.
Your audio never leaves this Mac
This is the part worth being precise about, because it’s a deliberate design decision and not a limitation we plan to remove.
Only the notes travel. The transcript, the summary, the speaker names. The recordings themselves — which are the overwhelming majority of what Minutiva stores — stay exactly where they were made. A meeting that arrives on your other Mac tells you which machine recorded it, so you know where the audio lives.
Minutiva is sold on your recordings not leaving your computer. Syncing them would make that claim false, so we don’t.
Nothing is shared unless you say so
There’s no library mirroring and no background upload of everything. Sharing is off until you turn it on, and then still nothing moves until you pick a specific meeting. Sending a meeting hands your other Mac a copy — more like AirDrop than a shared folder.
Stop Sharing removes it from iCloud. The copy your other Mac already has stays put, the same way a file you AirDropped last week doesn’t vanish when you delete the original.
A receipt for what moved
Settings has a new Sharing section listing what was sent, what arrived, and what you withdrew, with dates. Entries are written when iCloud actually confirms the transfer — not when you click — so the list reflects what really happened rather than what was attempted.
It keeps 30 days by default and forgets the rest. There’s a toggle if you’d rather keep everything; the list holds only titles and dates, never the meetings, so either way costs almost nothing.
How quickly it arrives
Shared meetings turn up on their own within a few minutes, and whenever you open the app. There’s a Check Now button in Settings if you’d rather not wait. Instant delivery is coming in a later build.
Requirements
- Both Macs signed into the same Apple ID — the meetings travel through your own private iCloud, which nobody else can read, including us.
- Premium.
